Continual improvement for tomorrow's world

nora rubber - durable and environmentally compatible material of all-around excellence

Rubber - the benchmark for durability and safety in a high quality raw material - is a perpetual challenge for us to convert its characteristics into the best floorcoverings in the world.

Freudenberg's R&D facilities continually refine nora rubber technology to provide trend-setting products of unique versatility, function and styling.

Our philosophy of finding solutions for the toughest floorcovering problems in an environmentally sensitive way has made us the world leader in rubber flooring, best known for its quality and many colors. In keeping with our corporate philosophy to protect the environment and the finite resources of this world, we at Freudenberg implemented an intensive R&D program to utilize natural rubber as a renewable resource in nora compounds, continually designing new products for better safety, elasticity, wear resistance and easy care, as well as lower life cycle costs through increased product longevity.

Based on 50 years of experience, our products are made for tomorrow, setting new standards of excellence:
  • Extraordinary wear resistance - the longer the lifetime, the less frequent need for disposal
  • PVC-free - made of high-quality rubber, mineral fillers and environmentally compatible color pigments.
  • Dirt-repellent - thanks to an extremely dense surface and nora cleanguard® which translates into lower maintenance costs.
  • No coating required - means flooring is slip-resistant, with low maintenance costs, easy care, and fewer pollutant in the waste water.
  • Dimensionally stable - no shrinkage since nora floorings contain no plasticizers.
  • Outstanding fire-protection properties - flame retardant up to Class A; no corrosive gases, no source for dioxins and furans.
  • Permanently resilient - for comfort underfoot.
  • Outstanding footfall sound absorption - standard values up to 20 dB.
  • Resistance to chemicals - withstands most solvents, diluted acids and alcalies.

Our Environmental Policy
In keeping with our corporate policy to protect our natural resources, and with a deep respect for the environment, we at Freudenberg have developed two new nora rubber floorings: ecoplan and ecoment manufactured with first grade recycled components to minimize production waste while eliminating the need for disposal.

Excellent in environmental compatibility
From raw materials to production, from installation to disposal, nora floorcoverings are naturally superior in quality and free of: PVC, halogens, plasticizers, formaldehyde, asbestos and CFCs.

Excellent in disposal options
Even though nora floorcoverings boast a long lifetime, if they do need to be removed, these are easy manners to dispose of:
  • They can be dumped safely on landfills, since there are no harmful substances such as PVC, halogens, plasticizers, formaldehyde, asbestos or CFCs to escape into the groundwater, they remain inert.
  • They can be incinerated, thus recovering the energy contained in the material.
Always abide by federal, state or local regulations.

Our holistic approach
Planning a contract job that requires a harmonized look within a wide range of functionally different areas? We can help make the job a lot easier with our comprehensive product system ranging from different performance categories to special requirements like electric conductivity, footfall sound absorption, resistance to oils and grease, impact resistance, flame retardancy, etc. and, for contrasting and combination installations, our range of colors includes options for almost every conceivable design. High-precision profiles and norament stairtreads complete our product line.
